Participants are invited to climb behind the controls of many vehicles, including a massive Chieftain Main Battle Tank, and put them through their paces.
The package includes a brief training session and the opportunity to drive a minimum of four different military vehicles. Participants begin the day-long session with a ride in an FV432 Troop Carrier to the base camp. There, they will undergo a briefing explaining the various aspects of terrorism and the efforts used to discourage modern terrorists. Professional staff members are trained to make sure each participant has a positive experience.
Depending on the package chosen, participants have access to a variety of military vehicles and different types of firearms. The FV432 is an armored personnel carrier with lever steering that is capable of running over 30 mph. Powered by a Rolls Royce engine, this workhorse was used on the battlefield as a rocket launcher and troop transport vehicle. The Gvozdika Russian tank is equipped with huge guns and is fully amphibious for those who do not mind getting wet.
People participating in these sessions must be at least 12 years old and reach a minimum height of 5’0″. Clothing should be comfortable and consist of items that can get wet and dirty. Sturdy boots are recommended. Safety helmets and camouflage suits will be provided. Safety goggles will be handed out during those activities that require eye protection.
This experience includes a competitive element that allows participants to try out their skills against each other in mock military maneuvers. They will learn how to fire a mortar built during the 1600s and the methods used to successfully load and fire a flintlock musket. They will then take these newly learned skills out to the woods and see how they measure up on the battlefield in the patrol challenge.
